MEET JIUN HO

Lisa Staprans has over twenty-five years of interior design experience, having worked on high-profile, award-winning residential and commercial projects around the country. Based in bucolic Portola Valley, California, Lisa gains inspiration from the beauty of nature that surrounds her as well as the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley.

Lisa honors the “soul of design” through all of her projects. She believes that artistically driven and emotionally connective interiors have the ability to transform one’s entire state of being. She embraces an ethos of social and fair trade responsibility, seeking out craftspeople and manufacturers who share the same philosophy. Her travels throughout the world have led to collaborations with indigenous artisans that can be seen not only in Lisa’s interiors but also in the beautiful things created and procured from her travels available for sale on One Kings Lane and Chairish.

Lisa first fell in love with design while studying art history, art and architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. She furthered her education at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design in New York City. She is a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the Leaders of Design Council, Design Leadership Network, ICAA, and ASID. Lisa has received awards from the American Institute of Architects for her work on the Portola Valley Town Library, a platinum LEED-certified project. Recently, she won an award for a 3,400 sq. ft. Single Family Home in 2016, and another one for a 5,600 sq. ft. Residential Mountain Retreat project in 2015 from the American Society of Interior Designers (Gold Awards in the Single Family Residence over 3000 sq. ft. category).

Lisa is currently working on her first book, “The Soul of Design”.

ABOUT STAPRANS DESIGN

At Staprans Design, we create interiors that embrace, energize and soothe in a sublime way. We support the idea that form and function need to reinforce each other. A space must evoke positive emotions through the beauty and comfort it exudes, and like nature and fine art it should continue to delight by revealing subtleties over time.

Lisa does not adhere to one particular design style. She is masterful at working with clients to uncover their unique aesthetic, one that best embodies their taste and the way that they live. Whether modern, transitional, eclectic, classic or traditional, Lisa strives to create authentic spaces that resonate with soul.

Lisa has spent her career in collaboration, teaming with some of the most talented architects, contractors, artisans and fabricators throughout the Bay Area and across the country. She gets that to produce the best results for her clients, the design team must function as an integrated and aligned unit. She is eager to bring in the best people for any given project and also easily jumps into existing contractor-architect relations with her interior design expertise.
