CURATED & COLLECTED — ELYSE WALKER’S NAPA VALLEY HOME
This striking wine country home serves as the primary residence of luxury fashion retailer Elyse Walker. Newly built and thoughtfully designed, it combines a carefully curated collection of vintage finds, custom pieces, and European furnishings to create a uniquely modern wine-country style. As a passionate art collector, Walker has also filled the home with an exceptional collection of graffiti-inspired works, including pieces by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, RETNA, Frank Stella, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mel Bochner, and Jean Dubuffet. Spanning 8,800 square feet, the property is nestled amongst the vineyards and includes a 5,800 sq ft main home, 2,000 sq ft party barn, and a 1,000 sq ft guest house.
Before moving to Napa Valley, Walker and her husband had been living in Venice Beach and New York, often visiting Napa to enjoy “peace, relaxation, great food, great people, and great wine,” says Walker. When the pandemic hit, they quarantined in the region and never left. “There’s just something about this area that made me want to be here,” she says. “Sometimes you can’t explain it.”
The kitchen features a dramatic Calacatta Monet marble backsplash, oak cabinetry with a wire-brushed ebony stain, and dark metal uppers with reeded glass. Riloh globe pendants were chosen for their complimentary scale and are paired with casual oak stools by Mandy Graham.
A sculptural concrete and steel fireplace separates the living room from the wine bar and library. Jean Dubuffet’s “La Tatrascopique” adds another sculptural statement. Large-scale dome light fixtures were commissioned by Nestor Rotsen to aid in the volume of the great room and bring warmth and ambiance to the entertaining spaces.
A low B&B Italia bed is grounded with shou sugi ban cedar, built in nightstands, and modern pendants by Dailon Studio.
The Party Barn has 16-foot barn doors and reclaimed wood siding throughout. It blends modern furnishings (DePadova leather chairs, a Living Divani double-sided sectional, and Poliform coffee tables) with large industrial-style chandeliers, a pool table, and a tequila bar.
